I made a "fuck you" amount of money being an early employee of a Silicon Valley company. One day I just said I was quitting to go travel. I was very polite.

I made a "fuck you" amount of money being an early employee of a Silicon Valley company. One day I just said I was quitting to go travel. I was very polite. My history there was long and I was consistently ranked high in my performance reviews, so they said they understood and told me to get in touch if I needed a job again. I didn't need a job again, so I didn't call them. I still go by this company and have lunch with some of my friends there when I am in the area. The company treated me well and I treated them well. Why burn bridges? He who shits on the road will meet flies upon his return.
