Did they try the 4 day week @ 7.5hrs? This seems the more obvious choice for worker happiness. Also would give more time back to both emplyee/emplyor as for the former you dont have 5 days commute and the latter for things like nursing there is less handover times and similar prep. Also I imagine if a bloc of countries did this en masse it would limit any detriment. That said I'd prefer 10hr days, which often is the case anyway, if I could get a 4 day week!
