Can you maybe clearly specify what exactly he did wrong? Not trying to defend him. I just want to know how to behave correctly when submitting my own stuff.
e.g:
Can we tweet a link to our own submission?
Can we add a link to the end of a blog post (that we submitted ourselves) with a link to the submission, saying: "Discuss on HackerNews"
- minimaxir 10y agoIMO, there is a difference in intent; the Tweets referenced were clearly intended as growth hacking. That being said, there isn't much of a reason to link directly to a HN thread unless discussion is already fostering, and certainly no reason to link to /newest and highlight that you did so. (I'm not a fan of Discuss on HN links in lieu of comments since it forces people to go to a different page)
