The inability of the interviewers to have an accurate idea of the candidate's ability after the interview is over is what I think is the worst thing about interviews. It's especially bad when you have to jump through hoops (coding challenges or whatever) and afterwards, despite the effort, end up with a similarly uninformed opinion of the candidate's ability.
