I use Uber for its pleasant vehicles and drivers, more than its cost. I'd absolutely user then over taxis even if they were 20% more expensive. I don't use airbnb because my travel needs can't tolerate any random last minute host cancellation. I continue to use hotels. I'm rarely happy with hotel prices but I am willing to pay for reliability of service.
