Contrary to what many people think, I will predict that the original Trump order will be upheld.
It is absolutely an Executive branch function to handle visas and immigration, and the actual law appears to be very clear.
I am not making a statement about Trump or his opponents, otherwise.

- patrickg_zill 10y agoI think Section 1182f: “Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate” ( Note that green card holders are still a class of aliens.)
- pvg 10y agoIt's not the only law and in addition, there is case law.
