      The point is that regardless of race, these companies still want the best and haven't lowered their standards to 'let certain people in' so to speak. Based on these 'diversity' headlines, it's easy to believe that these companies are 'letting' blk/his. folks in who may not be qualified; I'm saying this is not the case in my experience. Nor do I expect it to be...

        Not saying that I disagree that the standards aren't being lowered, but that conclusion doesn't necessarily logically follow. Where you only have one side of the data for your anecdotal experience, it's also possible that you didn't do well enough in the interview for the well-meaning-but-super-racist bias of lowered expectations to bridge the gap. Anyway, good luck with the interview process and I hope you land something great.
