Ask HN: Data engineering conferences?

I have an annual conference "allowance" from my employer. My work is almost entirely about data engineering type work; data pipelines, distributed computing (Spark, Hadoop), distributed databases, Big Data, web services for access, etc. I'd like to maximize the benefit for spending time and money on these conferences. Which conferences would you recommend and why?
