I have given up on social media too, but not for "Stallman" reasons but rather it makes me unhappy. Hacker News is the only place I visit and thought HN the websites too. I have visited HN every night for the past 4 or 5 years. It gives me everything I need, I need to stay away from politics though because I don't agree with majority here and discussing things makes me depressed.
