It's important to be mindful that 46% of voters is around 28% of eligible voters, and 20% of the overall US population. Obviously the same is true + or - a few percent for Hillary, so really unpopular presidential picks this year. Either way people weren't going to be super happy, but Trump is making absolutely no efforts to appeal to even moderate republicans.
