Will Snap exist in 5 years?
- jessaustin 10y agoWill "Google Cloud Platform" exist in 5 years?
- Gigablah 10y agoWill America exist in 5 years? (See how obnoxious this sounds?)
- frozenport 10y agoWill MySpace exist in 5 years?
- mastazi 10y agohttps://myspace.com/ https://myspace.com/
- frozenport 10y agoObviously this doesn't have the same infrastructure requirements
- jessaustin 10y agoOne supposes that might seem "obnoxious", to those who were somehow psychologically committed to what... the perpetual existence of America? That ain't me. It seems unlikely that the continent will sink into the ocean anytime in the next five years, however. Perhaps I could have been clearer, but I didn't say that Alphabet would fail anytime soon anyway. I referred rather to G's habit of discontinuing popular services.
- leesalminen 10y agoWell with this agreement in place I reckon it would. I was a bit skeptical before.
- stevenj 10y agoYes. If anyone wants to bet against them existing, I'll take the bet.
- patrickg_zill 10y agoI would bet that they don't end up completing the terms of the Google contract as signed; and that it would be heavily modified by year 3 of the contract.
- mtgx 10y agoIt's a shame that what started as one of the most private messaging apps around still doesn't use end-to-end encryption and has since been surpassed by many on that front, though.
- mjolk 10y agoWhat are the terms? I'd take that action if we're talking in their current form/focus.
- partiallypro 10y agoThey'll exist, doesn't mean they'll be relevant, or profitable. If I were asked to bet against the stock, I probably would. Everything about their valuation and IPO smells to high heavens.
- stale2002 10y agoFortunately for you, you can take that bet! As soon as Snap goes public, you can short the stock. Go for it!
- partiallypro 10y agoI prefer to deal in options, and options won't trade on the symbol for a while.
- simooooo 10y agoThey can't possibly. Those spectacles are unforgivable
- luckystartup 10y agoYes, I think so. I'm not sure about Twitter, Groupon, or Uber.
- nrh 10y agoAn article much more relevant to that question: https://techcrunch.com/2017/02/02/slowchat/ https://techcrunch.com/2017/02/02/slowchat/ It took Instagram Stories two quarters to catch up to Snapchat's total MAU.
- segmondy 10y agoWon't matter, enough money would have been extracted from the public. Why do you think they are going public?
