Should Elon Musk face the same pressure to resign from this council?
- tptacek 10y agoOf course. And, he already is facing that pressure.
- nerfhammer 10y agoIs it possible that this pressure applies more to CEOs that we don't otherwise trust?
- tptacek 10y agoI don't understand. Is your premise that I would otherwise trust Elon Musk?
- nerfhammer 10y agoNot you personally, I mean in general there is a public trust differential between Kalanick and Musk
- true_religion 10y agoI would imagine that Musk cares less because Telsa is already unable to meet demand, so bleeding off demand for a quarter or so will have less of an impact on its bottomline. Additionally, the wealthy people who buy Teslas are more likely statistically speaking to be Trump supporters, or have a more nuanced view on politics because of their socioeconomic status. We can't all distance ourselves from our long-time friends due to a single election vote.
- zimpenfish 10y ago> have a more nuanced view on politics because of their socioeconomic status Less nuanced, more not giving a crap because none of Trump's policies are likely to impact them.
- bradyo 10y agoDid you really just imply a richer person has a more nuanced view on politics because they're rich? Smh
- true_religion 10y agoNope, but those are really the only two conditions possible---either they are supportive, or they are nuanced. If they have another state of mind, they are likely to be against him.
