Opposition and talking are mutually exclusive at times and then you have to choose. Trump is marching forward while people try to talk to him, using their credibility to bolster his attack. If he's ready to talk, he can always call a cease-fire and do so. These responses are very reminiscent to me of Chamberlain before WWII, who said the same about another madman, and ceded much ground and many lives of others, and then it was too late.
Talking with other Americans is an entirely different matter.
- baytrailcat 10y agoRight on. For those who are encouraging dialogue, please show me one instance in the past 10 days where Trump has shown the least bit of ability to listen to the other side. Sometimes, brute force action is the only way to make your voice heard.
- patothon 10y agoGenuine question: Is anyone is the us ready for brute force? When was the last time there was a brute force against an US administration that worked? I'm French, so historically brute force for me means using force. Brutally. Right now I only see people marching and yelling. When's the last time that worked in the us? I'm a little lost to understand what would work in the US to be honest. Culturally, here, what is the best way to overthrow?
- hackuser 10y agoI'm almost certain the GP meant brute force metaphorically, meaning aggressive political opposition with no attempt at finesse. Think of 'brute force' attacks on crypto - no actual brutality or force is used.
