As to whether my mind is more nimble than persons typically interested in improving their touch typing skills, I couldn't say. I have a high IQ, but I do not believe that translates to the ease in learning a physical skill like typing. I really think perseverance and focus mean more than anything here. I guess the one thing that does help is memory. I was able to ditch the printed layout after a couple of days. But even then, it was slow going for the first week or so.
