And not only did they sell more Macs, their average selling price per Mac was up significantly.
Probably due in part to pent up demand for the higher-end Macbook Pros, but since the touchbar models are significantly more expensive, likely due to that as well. Will be interesting to see the ongoing trend, but I would guess that people keep buying these machines.
- FabHK 10y agoPlus, since they didn't upgrade the MBA, a number of people might have switched to the "cheap" function-key 13 inch MBP, which was, what, 50% more expensive than the MBA?
- toyg 10y agoThat was the plan all along, and I think it's the one that is really working. They moved Air customers to the Pro line to squeeze them better. Meanwhile, Pro customers are not playing ball (they are the ones complaining), but it's compensated by higher margins at the lower end.
