I would like to see Big Data used to improve everyone's lives. I think of McDonalds in Denmark - Government supported Union actions forced them to pay a living wage ($20/hr), offer decent shifts, have 6 weeks vacation, and confirm to Danish working conditions. A follow-up study showed, if I recall the numbers correctly, 3% fewer McDonalds in the country, 18% less profit to the wealthy owners, and much higher quality of life for the workers. I'd like to see Big Data used to look for similar "policy wins" which benefit our society as a whole (while having essentially no impact on those who already have enough wealth to have a high quality life.)
