Why don't the big SV firms use their overseas cash to invest in overseas operations? That way they don't have to worry about domestic politics getting in the way of their developers, and it keeps them from having to deal with a difficult administration just to repatriate their cash. As far as protests by CEOs go, I'll believe their true intentions when I see them. Doesn't take much to stand in line and hold a sign. Likewise, the best way to take action is to join local boards and volunteer for thankless work to better your community. It's not as exciting as a protest but it makes a real difference.
