- edoceo 10y agoI bought FB on their IPO day, as a retail investor you'll not get it early, took a few hours for some to become available, so the IPO price is not what you'll pay. Or, be a big-money account with the underwriting bank. They can get you these shares at base.
- moflome 10y agoIn the past, I was able to work with my broker to express interest during the book building process [0] of previous IPO's. My full-service broker at the time was a lead underwriter in that deal. This time, it looks like Morgan and GS are leads [1]. Morgan may still allow retail investor participation, but not sure. - jandrese 10y agoStep 1. Create an investment bank. Step 2. Make a close relationship to the institution managing the IPO. Step 3. Too late, the existing big banks get dibs. They might be willing to sell you some scraps after the price has been run up into the stratosphere and all of the incumbents have made their profit.
- bostand 10y agoA better strategy: 1. Wait a while 2. Buy them cheap 3. Wait some more 4. Now they are even cheaper, duhhh!
