You're never going to get anywhere without recognizing the source of the problem.
- iaw 10y ago> You're never going to get anywhere without recognizing the source of the problem. So... Demonize the voters that naively thought Trump would help them more than Hillary? What comes next after they're alienated? Pragmatically: where are we going to get with you proposed tactic?
- mozumder 10y agoYou could actually do things to punish them, like boycott their states. Being punitive towards these criminals is perfectly valid. Liberals have the wealth in the country that the Trump voters want. You don't have to give it to them.
- jpttsn 10y agoIf liberals want to keep the wealth for themselves and not share it, are they still liberals? Sounds like a koan.
- Tulip68 10y agoIt's very simple: make it socially unacceptable to promote the ethnic cleansing of a religion comprised of nearly a billion people, 99.999% of whom are decent, peaceful people who share the same types of dreams, goals and values as the rest of us. This wouldn't be the first time we've had to confront bigots who want to eliminate entire groups of people because they have a different skin color or pray to a different sky-man. And we didn't get rid of them by playing nice or trying to split the difference. Rather, whether we're talking about slave-owners in the 1860s or fasicists the 40s, we've faced this menace before and stamped them out the promotors of hate and division. And we will do it again.
- up_so_floating 10y agoIt is already socially unacceptable to promote ethnic cleansing of any sort. Sure, it's important to continually affirm this, but can you name anyone in the Trump administration who is promoting ethnic cleansing?
- mozumder 10y ago> can you name anyone in the Trump administration who is promoting ethnic cleansing? All of them, since that's the purpose of this administration

- Tulip68 10y agoJust as every one of Hitler's cabinet-level ministers was deemed at the very least complicit in that regime's crimes against humanity, so it every single one of Trumpf's cronies guilty for being an enabler of these disgusting, hateful, racist and un-American violations of fundamental human rights. Every last one of them needs to be brought to justice and called to account for their inaction in the face of ethnic cleansing once this illegitimate "president" is finally impeached (and mark my word, that day is coming much sooner than you think). Every. Single. One. Of. Them.
- thedevil 10y agoThere is a book I recently read: https://www.amazon.com/Never-Split-Difference-Negotiating-Depended-ebook/dp/B014DUR7L2 https://www.amazon.com/Never-Split-Difference-Negotiating-De... This is a book about negotiation written by a hostage negotiator. It was an eye-opener that I needed. One of the key principles is that you don't accuse or attack (something I still need to work on myself).
- mozumder 10y agoIn sales training seminars, that would be one tactic. Other valid tactics include the frontal attack.
- thedevil 10y agoHow well do you think the aggressive tactics work in long-term relationships? How well do you think they work when you're in the weaker position (e.g. when your side controls neither congress nor the white house)? And more specifically, how well do you think they worked in this election?
