I found it funny how stories circulating about the resurgence in sales of this novel were somehow a negative for Trump. 1984 is about big and oppressive government controlled by the politicians, something he makes clear over and over that is not going to go forward under his term. Considering the last Administration denied from FOIA requests than any other, their treatment of James Rosen, James Risen, and actions of the Justice Department with concerns to reporters actually reporting, its more applicable to where we came from. However this isn't the message that political operatives want. All comparisons must be to Hitler, either directly or indirectly. I cannot fathom how anyone who has read the book or description thereof can even connect the two. its operating on hearsay and misconceptions of the actual book. You want 1984 just go to China, North Korea, or any other nation, which does not care that anyone knows they filter the news or prosecute for conflicting to the regime information. If anything its the false over reaction in the West that lets politicians cover up real crimes and real impediments to information freedom because you damn well guarantee they will use such fears to pass even more restrictive laws, all just to protect us. the one percent are the politicians, just look around the world and see its results.
