There's a book I've never actually read that has a brilliant title, so good I don't even feel the need to read it. :) "In Business As in Life, You Don't Get What You Deserve, You Get What You Negotiate" Yes, that's the name of the book, just google it. :) But I have most definitely found this to be true. While it is sometimes the case that good deeds are rewarded, to really get what you want and to go beyond what you thought was your potential you need to be assertive and go after things. Negotiate for yourself rather than waiting around for something to happen. Push the boundaries.
