I've had various ones prescribed over the years, usually just long enough apart for me to forget how horribly, horribly nauseous they make me feel. They relieve the pain, somewhat, but never completely and there's nothing remotely "euphoric" about the experience. Over the counter painkillers work just fine on the other hand; never had a problem with ibuprofen, acetaminophen, etc.
