I usually have a Comments first approach. Read the top 3-4 comments and if I find the subject interesting I read the post. Sometimes the comments are so interesting though that I have to read them all before clicking the post. Sometimes I skip the post. Most of the value is in the comments, specially during these times where a lot of content on the web has a commercial purpose.
