I beliebe I would find it tremendously useful.

I believe—though I haven't read it yet—that GTD (by David Allen) has some elements about personal retrospectives in it: have a look at what you did, what you wanted to do, compare and improve.
Again, I don't do this (though I want to) but I'll follow this discussion with interest!
