Cellulose is a carbohydrate too.
- raverbashing 10y agoChemically I'm not sure, but it amounts to dietary fiber as it's not digestible by humans
- thomasahle 10y agoFrom http://www.rsc.org/Education/Teachers/Resources/cfb/carbohydrates.htm http://www.rsc.org/Education/Teachers/Resources/cfb/carbohyd... > Carbohydrates (also called saccharides) are molecular compounds made from just three elements: carbon, hydrogen and oxygen. Monosaccharides (e.g. glucose) and disaccharides (e.g. sucrose) are relatively small molecules. They are often called sugars. Other carbohydrate molecules are very large (polysaccharides such as starch and cellulose). I wish people would stop hating on "carbs" and redirect their disdain to sugars / small carbohydrates.
