The app should force spawning a new window when there are too many tabs to reliably display titles. This wouldn't be that tricky - screen width / min-legible tab size = threshold number of tabs for new window spawn. Then it would be totally down to personal preference: when I reach maximal tabs, do I want to keep going into the nightmare pit of tabageddon or am I happy with a new clean window?
