I have the opposite experience. We have many more informal channels and opportunities to check in and learn what other teams are doing by being remote and having our conversations openly in our group chat. IMO, good communication, collaboration and transparency is not about remote vs. office. I'm sure we can find plenty of bad experiences for both.
