Paraphrasing Sagan: "Great claims, need great evidence". Real evidence is always lacking for aliens.
- littlegreenb18 10y agoEvidence isn't really the issue here. We're not trying to answer a definitive question here of whether or not there have been advanced civilizations. We're trying to reason our way into a statement of probability. Just because it isn't currently provable doesn't mean it isn't a question worth investigating.
