I'm curious, what's the fraud's mental model of what he is doing? Does he know he is cheating, and is he telling himself that's what he has to do to survive? Or does he not actually know that the code has meaning and that he can't, in general, cut and paste to solve a problem? If it's something like the latter, I wonder if this behavior is encouraged by our school system. The jr high/high school homework I hear about is mainly done by cutting and pasting answers, with no effort to learn or understand the content itself.
