> Within 2 days Bryan was terminated from his position and back to doing contract work in his old industry.
Thid doesn't seem to be very ethical thing to do.
- b_t_s 10y agoExposing someone who is committing fraud and plagiarism is always ethical. Failure to do so is unethical.
- kohanz 10y agoTelling the truth is unethical?
- holtalanm 10y agoYou're right. The mentor should have, if possible, let the employer know BEFORE hiring that scumbag.
- gooseus 10y agoIf you see a fraud and don't shout "fraud", then you are a fraud.
- bvinc 10y agoNo one else seems to agree with you, but I do. What's the moral of the story? Don't be Bryan or else I might rat you out to your employer? People have different ethics, so I hope we can all agree to disagree instead of starting an argument. But if I know someone, even if I don't like them, they're a friend. No matter what problem you have with a friend, you don't take that problem to their job. Yes, he's a fraud. Yes, the truth was told. But I prioritize people I know and I don't rat out my friends.
- holtalanm 10y agofriends don't take your work and pass it off as their own. that guy was not a friend, that much is obvious.
- mightybyte 10y ago> But if I know someone, even if I don't like them, they're a friend. That's not the definition of the word "friend" as it is conventionally used. Sounds like the word "acquaintance" would be more appropriate to me.
- valuearb 10y agoYou don't rat out your friends? What if one steals from his company? What if one steals from your company? What if one steals from your family? What if one sexually assaults a child? My friends are my friends because they are good ethical people. We don't always agree on politics or religion, etc, but we don't steal/cheat/defraud others. If I find out they do, they aren't my friends anymore.
