Wasn't there an attack that if you go to web.xyz, there was an embedded link that led to http://192.168.1.100/reset http://192.168.1.100/reset which reset your modem. In this case it would work either way because there is no authentication. However, if the modem required an authentication and you are logged in in one tab, then going to that website in a different other tab would still work. I don't think this would work if you use the container tabs.
