The three most important things (imho) are this: 1) Most of your assumptions are wrong. Tell/ask everyone you can about your idea and evaluate all feedback. 2) Figure out how you are going to get customers and get them to pay. If you don't know this first, you'll never get anywhere. 3) Find someone to work with. This is a very hard thing and you are going to get discouraged constantly. You'll need external motivation or you'll give up. Everything else can be overcome with hard work.
