I've decided to quit my job ... and I only have a few $k I don't know the specifics of your situation, but this seems like a really bad plan. Usually when I advise people who are about to start contracting, I tell them they should have 3 to 6 months of rent before they start; contracting is much more of a sure thing than building Slack for dogs.
