One thing interesting that just now popped out at me while looking at the page for the "Happiness Index". In most ordinary lists, you wouldn't have any graphic, but Wikipedia has put the countries flag as an icon next to the text. Eight of the top ten happiest countries has a flag with a cross in it. The two outliers are Canada and the Netherlands. Apparently the Canadian flag had St. Georges cross on it until 1957.

- disordinary 10y agoIt's no surprise that the countries which are happiest are either from Northern Europe or are former British colonies. They are all wealthy, developed, educated, have low instances of religion, and are left leaning with tax payer funded healthcare, education, etc. I wonder how many countries that Queen Elizabeth is monarch of don't have union jacks on their flags. I can think of Canada and Jamaica, but there's bound to be more in the Caribbean and Pacific.
