I am learning rust. To me, the amazing thing is the lack of runtime. If you are writing a library to render the latest web image format, or implement the latest secure network protocol, then your choices are limited and Go is not an option. Sure, you could write it in Go and then Go programmers could use it. But if you write it in C or rust, it could be the de facto library for nearly all languages. The article is a good one, but doesn't really influence my personal opinion much.
