Do not update it. Technology is actually painfully slow. Maybe you need to change technology once in ten years (such as moving from C++ to Java).

- webmaven 10y agoWhoa there, let's not go overboard. Implementing a decadal cadence for switching would require budgeting for about a year of reduced earnings while you build competency in the new platform/language/ecosystem (and the associated client base).
