Yeah I did not mean to go so far off topic, just wanted to point out that I think a free market approach to health care will lead to an abusive system due to for-profit entities like insurance companies behaving in ways that are good for itself, but ultimately bad for patients. I agree that reducing IP protections is a good idea. I'm not sure I would call other systems mediocre. They're not perfect but they're far, far ahead of what we have in the US. I don't think that our country is so different from others that implementing a similar system wouldn't lead to an improved outcome as well. Anyways, thanks for the discussion.
