You do know that "technology" and "capitalism" are not synonyms, right? And that a whole lot of technological advances have occurred outside of a capitalist context? It serves the interests of the powerful to pretend like we have to have both, but it's just not true.

Like, I'm genuinely interested in understanding what a better economic+political system than capitalism+liberal democracy would look like (as I totally agree that there is much that is seriously broken about the current one). So I'd very much like to know about some examples of systems that rivalled or surpassed the capitalist democracies of the past 50-100 years for innovation.
