- chc 10y agoAlternatively, it could be because of increasing lifespans and ballooning educational requirements for the average job.
- ArkyBeagle 10y agoIt's because the barrier to entry into employment rises because the overall productive sector is - despite all the horror stories - quite effective at producing. They don't really need your help. My father, born in 1930, had to perform manual labor on farms because that was how stuff got produced. There was no barrier to entry. He then worked until retirement on mechanical phone switches, which are now beyond obsolete.
