I wonder how many people thought app.net was a Microsoft product.
- WildUtah 10y agoAny association with the SharePoint people could and should doom a social network product. Or any product.
- rbanffy 10y agoI like to call it ShamePoint. Nobody can possibly be proud of deploying that.
- mypalmike 10y agoYeah, the name is confusing. It's like a pizza place named "Waffle Irons Direct".
- jyriand 10y agoI thought it's some kind of app store for android phones. Not sure why I made this association. But I guess their name might be one of the reasons of failure. It's simple and short, but doesn't really tell anything about the product.
- intoverflow2 10y agoAlways felt like a case where they bought the domain name for another reason then one day decided to build a twitter clone. Branding wise is made absolutely no sense.
