Perhaps I'm a "bad web citizen" for not wanting to go mobile first with responsive design, but most of the work I've done over the past 5 years for clients has been "desktop first", fixed-width web applications (with native mobile apps or separated mobile views if applicable). It's hard to do responsive right and it costs real time and money for what is, sometimes, only a theoretical use-case.
And for that, the Bootstrap grid has become slightly worse ever since v2 as the media-query stuff gets more and more exposed on the public API.
- simonw 10y agoCheck your analytics. Many sites are now seeing more traffic from mobile devices than desktop devices - the switchover for your sites may have happened in the last six months. Desktop first is making less and less sense.
