While I have no personal love for Backpage's adult section or their facilitation, if any, of sex worker trafficking, I wonder: What determines which businesses the government pressures into shutting down and which they do not? I fear it's ultimately politics and not law. The next President of the U.S. has often threatened news media; could they be similarly pressured?
