Media companies in EU will be allowed to ban customers who use ad blockers
- opless 10y agoThe irony being the article is behind a paywall.
- berry_sortoro 10y agoYeah Pathetic, why would people post paywalled links here.
- berry_sortoro 10y agoActually I just read its only allowed here if there is a workaround? So where is that workaround?
- tomhoward 10y agoWhen you open the comments page of any item on HN (eg: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=13370551 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=13370551), look in the small text beneath the title for the 'web' link. Open that link in an incognito window, and you should see the article at the top of Google's results. When you click through from Google, you can normally read the full article.
- flukus 10y agoCustomers or readers? Banning readers is fine, I'd rather avoid your content anyway. Banning paying customers would be another story, though I would have thought it's one that would solve itself.
