- andrewfromx 10y agoI added tier's and prices for the ones I know the prices of. It's just a nice list of all the code schools and what tier they are in. Like http://law-schools.startclass.com/saved_search/Tier-1-Law-Schools http://law-schools.startclass.com/saved_search/Tier-1-Law-Sc...
- proaralyst 10y agoWhy compile a table of their web servers though?
- andrewfromx 10y agoI just find it interesting that extra little bit of info an http get request sends in the header. And if a school is running IIS vs. nginx it says something right?
- proaralyst 10y agoYes that makes sense, thanks for explaining
- dkuntz2 10y agoWho determines the tiers?
- andrewfromx 10y agoI went thru them all and kinda gave them a once over. It's the Wild West out there. I don't think http://www.chea.org http://www.chea.org is going to be able to handle code schools. So I put the ones I think are top notch in tier 1 but I'm open to suggestions.
- dkuntz2 10y agoI mean it's clear you have nothing but contempt for traditional education, but you're an unproven concept arguing that you're providing something better than every top CS school's MBA and PhD programs, and arguing that your own board member's opinions are better than an organization dedicated to determining if institutions are actually teaching relevant information at a competent level. The entire setup is just exceptionally biased towards you and your program. Also, it's definitely easy to compare such a program to top CS schools, because many actually offer software specific masters programs, which is directly comparable to what you're trying to offer.
- andrewfromx 10y agohttps://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-05-07/coding-classes-attract-college-grads-who-want-better-jobs https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-05-07/coding-cl... "Coding boot camps didn’t exist four years ago. Now 80 of them pull in $59 million a year, mostly from college grads." We need to re-train 1,000,000 of people to code. CS master and phd programs are not the way to do it. Code schools are. There is something wonderful about any smart person applying themselves for 2 years and getting a Code Degree and be a working senior engineer but that same person would NEVER even be admitted to cs masters program. There are smart people out there that can be trained in this craft. Vs. you have to know math and science and play the traditional education game. i.e. the 1,000,000 truck drivers that will be out of work soon. A lot of them can code. Well. I think in addition to mine https://www.turing.io https://www.turing.io is great program.
