Very interesting to read about the different conflict-resolution approaches between the Credit card company and the legal system. The CC process seemed smart, lean, fair and efficient. The legal system seems absolutely terrible. Why do we accept that level of service (delays, waiting, etc) from one of our most important institutions? The cynic in me says that since lawyers run the system, and lawyers get paid by hours, they have no incentive to make the system more streamlined.
