I have high hopes for JetBrains, and possibly MS, making their IDE "engines" available for integration with third-party editors, ... I am not sure if the project is backed in any official capacity by Microsoft, but isn't Omnisharp[0] more or less the same idea? --- [0]: http://www.omnisharp.net http://www.omnisharp.net

Not sure if it still does, but I'm pretty sure omnisharp is what VS Code used for it's C# engine when it first came out
