The history has been that odd preferences for the content & operation of museums and foundations very rarely outlive the founder, so you're looking at at most ~20 years of purely interior weirdness.
- ghaff 10y agoIt mostly has at the Gardner in Boston but even that's been shaken up a bit recently.
- pmyteh 10y agoThere are some glorious counterexamples, though: the Sir John Soane museum in London is both magnificent and magnificently weird...
