$1.5 million for 68 employees at a nursing home.
I work in a healthcare system with 120,000 employees. Let's say we reduced hours to 6. Using the Swedish numbers, that would cost our organization $2.6 billion dollars, or roughly 10% of annual budget.
- falcolas 10y agoThe costs are not trivial, I agree. But neither are the stated benefits. I personally value those benefits, even at a 10% premium.
- tdb7893 10y agoI personally would be willing to have a 10% pay cut to work only 6 hours a day
- falcolas 10y agoUnfortunately, at least in the US, going down to 6 hours a day makes you a part time employee, at which point you lose a lot more than even 25% of your pay. Frequently benefits are pared down to the point of extinction, including health, vacation and holidays.
- tdb7893 10y agowhat's stopping you from being a salaried employee that just happens to work 30 hours a week?
