That is a great way to kill all transport by car in the US. I understand there is a risk when driving in a car. However, when I am driving I am in control of, at least, a portion of that risk. I can control how I drive and how I react to scenarios on the road. I also have my best inteserests in mind. If I get into a self-driving car that will randomly kill me if I am unlucky enough to get into the wrong car at the wrong time, I cannot control that risk. It is no different than Russian roulette. No thank you. I would take public transot and/or move somewhere I could walk everywhere. Part of the reason that people accept the risk of driving in cars is because they have some control (or someone they trust has that control). Without that, I wonder how many would bother with driving?
