While I highly recommend not being too connected to the concretes and noise of the day, i.e. news, I think sticking your head in the sand is not such a great idea either. Nobody planned on or set out to design and build tanks, cars, plane, guns, bombs, ciphers or databases for the Nazis but people actually did.
